Hey, there sports fans, Al here with the latest:
Two Days?
Two days for what? Till then end of the world as we know it? Two days before aliens arrive?
Nah nothing so grandiose as that.
Finally, I’ve got two days to work on the artwork, and now is a chance for me to try to shorten the number of panels for Richard Parker. That is a big deal for me since I’ve been recalled back to work this from my so-called furlough. So the one thing about the furlough I should say is that real life has this tendency to get in the way of doing art. And I think every artist experiences the same thing as real-life influences art whether you want it to or not.
Trust me I’m not sad to be working though. Let me clear on that point.
Richard Parker is still going forward right now as I’m illustrating the second explosion that knocks Parker off his scaffold before delving into the deep. There are new techniques that need to be added to this new piece to really illustrate what an explosion looks like underwater on a flat two-dimensional plane.
Star Trek Nomad:
I have been working on that storyline slowly to make sure that the story makes sense and fits into the traditionally accepted cannon, not the murder trek that’s out currently. I’ve also been researching AI to be included in the ship design for the USS Athena and the rest of the story. I’ve just got done recently watching the HBO max series called "Raised by Wolves". It was a high concept for a TV show and it started off really good for the first four or five episodes and then it went completely off the rails which is seem or seems to be something that Ridley Scott just can’t get a handle on. In the Alien Spin-off "Prometheus", he had the perfect chance to explore the age-old idea of creation by exploring it from one character's POV - David the android played by Michael Fassbender.
But instead, we saw a number of characters that were paper cutouts placed in a weird story. Visually it was a great set-piece but it lacked solid storytelling and planning if you were to go to an alien planet. Just sayin'. Even the introduction of the Engineers was lost through the movie. Again conceptually AI just looks bad even for all their enhancements and capabilities to surpass their creators.
The Star Trek idea still moves along as I gather more of the pieces for that story.
PODCASTING:
“It always comes back to Trek” podcast. Still researching more of my aims on this topic. But as yesterday unfolded, I realized that there were a number of topics to be covered so the catchphrase “content” can be used.
There are so many trigger words and verbal bullet points that are used in the programming algorithms on youtube, twitch, parlor I have to have a spreadsheet next to me to know what isn't going to start a shit storm of controversy. But me being a passionate speaker for something I love I think will come through.
Keeping my fingers crossed on that.
Corpse Cop #4 “Death Walks the Stars” is still in development.
The main story has been laid out in several thumbnails but has yet to be finalized before the scratchboarding can begin. I believe that CC’s POV needs to be expanded upon. But I will return to that series once Last Monster on EARTH! is returned with its edits.
And that is it for the kid.
