Upcoming Art Show - The Goodfoot Lounge

So amiss the chaos of Drones and Orbs in the friendly skies, to strange fog floating over areas of the US, UK, and other parts of Europe to wildfires sweeping through the LA area and Earthquakes off the coast line and the every constant wars of the middle East and the Russian/Ukrainian War, I am here, with a new art show and new artwork.

The best I can do is move forward with what I have at my finger tips and if I can move the needle a lot (not just a little) with the image I generate then I am affecting those people around me not just the people and friends that I have made over the years.

If my ideas and words seem jumbled it is probably because I have had a second cup of coffee literally after my first.-

There is a constant flow of work to show and there are new ideas that are popping up in my head. A good chunk of this is from some of the content

that I have been scanning over and listening to over both YouTube and TikTok, Facebook, and Tumblr.

It's unfortunate that I have heard that TikTok is being brought down because of the information that is being shared online, and supposedly from China. I don't buy it. Any lone creator is not a big threat to anyone unless your channeling John Galt.

I liked the way you were able to weave images and small videos with music that you didn't get flagged for like on YouTube. It was just another way of cross-pollinating the system with your ideas and personal thoughts.

But besides that little digital hiccup, there is a commission from last month and year that is now completed. Just as a side note for creators when dealing with commissions – always meet your client face to face.

I know that may sound silly but just getting commission through email or some other mode of digital commerce but face-to-face to make the topic of the piece very clear.

The short of this was I was commissioned to make several images of a preexisting photo and make matte-finished 5"x7" cards. The misunderstanding was in order to make a good 5"x7" image I had to make a 9"x12" illustration for the subtle detail.

The Photo the Client wanted me to work on reproducing.

This is not what the client wanted. She wanted exactly 5 cards made of the image she sent me and printed and cut so she could give these to friends. Not a piece of scratchboard work.

Was the illustrations I have shown both in person and online not enough to impress upon a person the kind of work I do? Anyone could have gone down to a Kinko's or Walgreens and have images printed off. This was not a good use of my skills but it was completed and I will have to hand over the final piece along with the cards to go with it.

But the real cool stuff was just beginning. The Art Show for 2025. At the Goodfoot Lounge (LAST THURSDAY ART OPENING (5pm Doors, Upstairs Pub) | The Goodfoot). At last count, I had 45 pieces ready to go. Now I am just deciding on the sizes of the bigger pieces to include.

This is one of the three poster designs that are for the art opening at the end of this month at the Goodfoot Lounge. Super excited for this.

Some of the pieces I have for this show are based on the events that are more worldwide. I don't address war because that askes me to draw a line in something I know very little about. And I don't trust the news outlets that are reporting on it either. BUT I can bring up other topics that seem to be out of place for a lot of other folks. The weird fog reports are probably going to be added to the list of images that I need to make for later this year.

It should also be mentioned that as much as I am self promoting here there are two other artists that are included. One of which I have met at the Slingshot while having a drink and talking to my friend Amy Cartwright the bartender.

Other images are much more fanciful – what some might call fantasy.

“Burning the Surface” 8”x10” 300 DPI $125.00

I like cat people. They have been featured heavily in some of my latest work.

Wild times I have to say. The Foerten Times are changin’ and this kid is outta here. Got to get ready to do the podcast with my friend Paul soon. Topic this Sunday - Star Trek TOS. Gangsters and Tribbles! Comedy Potpourri If you are looking for something else to add to your personal entertainment. Check it out.
